Crushed Glass Blasting Media
CompuPoint USA makes crushed glass blasting media from two non-leaded glass streams recovered at our R2v3 and RIOS™ certified facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia: solar panel glass from our Solar 4.0 line, and the front panel glass of CRT TVs and monitors. Leaded CRT funnel glass is a separate stream that goes only to licensed smelters and is never used in our media.
What crushed glass media is
Crushed glass media is recycled glass broken and screened into angular grains of set sizes, used in place of sand or mineral slag for abrasive blasting. Glass is amorphous, so the media contains no crystalline silica, the hazard that makes blasting with silica sand dangerous to breathe. It is also lighter than most slag abrasives, so the same weight covers more surface.
Where our glass comes from
| Source | What it is | Used in our media |

| CRT panel glass | Front screen of CRT TVs and monitors, separated from the funnel | Yes |
| CRT funnel glass | Leaded back section of CRT tubes | No. It goes only to licensed smelters |
